Nutrient-Enhanced Attenuation Technology (NEAT®) is eGeo’s patented process employed on remediation of chlorinated solvents. The aerobic process of NEAT® injects vapor-phase nutrients through a unique delivery system, which converts TCE to TCE-epoxide. TCE-epoxide is highly unstable and breaks down into chloride salt and carbon dioxide.
Using a co-metabolite, propane, with the vapor-phase nutrients, NEAT® is highly effective on chlorinated daughter products such as DCE and vinyl chloride. The co-metabolite stimulates the growth of methanotrophic bacteria present in soil and saturated sediments.
The NEAT® remediation trailer consists of a self-contained air delivery system with a separate injection module tailored to the specific conditions of the site to accomplish the groundwater remediation. |
